Welcome Joel

This is a long overdue introduction of Joel Tidman, your new Assistant Superintendent.  We are extremely glad he chose to join our team and you will all understand why when you get to meet him.  Joel comes to us from The Country Club of Virginia where he spent the past year.  Prior to that he worked with an engineering firm where he was involved in soil testing for various construction/development projects.  Joel was a member of the soccer team at Emory and Henry where he earned his degree in Biology.  An avid golfer, he decided that working in the dirt was not as fun as working on grass so he made the career switch and we are happy he did.   

Joel fills a role that is very hard to fill these days and it's a position that is often underappreciated.  Keeping a close eye on every blade of grass woven through 6 miles across several hundred acres is more than I can do alone.  There are a lot of moving pieces this time of year with the full staff in place and Joel helps things run smoothly.  He's hands on and will be involved in almost every aspect of our department.  We want to provide him with the experience he needs to help advance in the industry.  We've been fortunate to see his predecessors Rob and Ryan, develop with us and take on Superintendent roles with other clubs.  I am certain that Joel will be positioned to do the same.
