Great Team Win !

The past week was a big challenge for us.  A full day outing that started at 8:30AM on Monday kept us off the course and then Tuesday brought 2.5" of rain.  Wednesday and Thursday were far too wet for mowing anything other than greens and some hand mowed areas around bunkers.  We desperately needed to get some grass mowed before the end of the weekend as we have another big outing Monday followed by more rain.  In other words, the only option for us to get any grass mowed was going to be late afternoon/evening/night sometime Friday-Sunday.  Realizing this, I put out a call for help to our staff for a late afternoon shift on Friday.  Not surprisingly, as we have a tremendous group of humans,  Alan, Dave, Mike, Cody, and Will all showed back up at 4PM Friday and mowed until almost dark.  We work 7 days a week so some of these same guys were back at work at 6AM Saturday.  There are a lot of clippings to clean up as we missed 2-3 cuts since last week.  The lesser of two evils was to get grass mowed and deal with clean up around play over the next few days.  Waiting another week would have been a disaster that would not buff out for weeks.  I'm extremely grateful for the kind of people we have on our staff.  In some companies asking someone to stay 1 minute late on a Friday is a waste of breath.  In our case they worked their regular Friday shift, came back to work another 4-5 hours Friday evening, then returned Saturday morning at 6AM.  They did this without hesitation.   

You should be proud of your team.  Hopefully we can dodge a bullet next week and get grass back under control after the Monday outing.  The tee sheet is jam packed every day so time is hard to find.
