Another Wet Week

We've had just under 6" of rain the past two weeks.  Each of the past three Wednesdays have been washouts.  This week we planned to do the mini core aeration on Tuesday and Wednesday, but had to bail out when it became clear that rain was going to be moving in by noon on Tuesday.  When it became obvious Monday afternoon that we would be getting a lot of rain, we opted to mow as much of the course as possible on Tuesday.  The amount of rain expected, and received, on Wednesday has made it too wet to mow anything besides greens.  In hindsight we did the right thing as we would have knee deep rough and only about 1/3 of the greens aerated if we had stuck with our plan.  It's been a very challenging few weeks and it's keeping us from making the progress we had hoped.  Shoveling mud from bunkers and dodging puddles with mowers is no fun.  It looks like next week will bring drier and much warmer weather so hopefully we can bounce back.
