Pond Levels

Pond levels are low throughout the neighborhood for obvious reasons.  We are almost 20" below the 30 year average for rain over the past 12 months.  Contrary to popular belief, the golf course gets its water from the lake and does not use any pond water for irrigation.  The ponds do however, get used by adjacent homeowners for irrigation.  The golf course irrigation system can, at times, be used to fill certain ponds on the course.   When can the golf course irrigation system be used to fill ponds?  When we are not in need of irrigation on the course between mid March and early December.  What about the ponds that the golf course irrigation system can't fill?  Some ponds are fed with nearby wells and some rely solely on mother nature.  Why can't the ponds fed by a well always be full?  The wells do not supply water as fast as it's lost to evaporation, seepage, and homeowner irrigation.  In Valor Bridge there are 5 ponds that share 1 well.  All of these ponds are used by surrounding homeowners to irrigate.  In other words, roughly 25 homes are irrigating from 1 well in Valor Bridge.

I wish I had better news for those looking for water, but rain is the only solution.

The June Update looks very similar to this one.  It's been a dry year.
