Woodwork

As previously mentioned in several earlier updates, we have been focused on cleaning up storm damaged trees and removing dead and/or dangerous trees around the golf course.  The storm did a lot of damage to cherry trees, river birches, and pines in particular.  Where broken branches left a tree severely lopsided or disfigured we chose to remove the tree.  With removals completed for the time being, we brought in some help for the stumps.  Yesterday and this morning we had nearly 250 stumps ground by Danny and Chris from Pro Stump Removal.  That is not nearly all of the stumps we'd like to remove, but it was a good 12 hours of effort by two big machines.  The machines move very slowly so we focused them in areas to minimize travel time and maximize stump removal.  The debris from these stumps will be cleaned up and, where possible, we will plant grass in the form of either seed or sod.  We are excited to be closing in on the end of our winter tree work.  Course and turf maintenance will hopefully become the bulk of our effort soon.  Great seeing some golfers out these past few days!

This was the biggest of the bunch

Two of these did a lot of work
