Course Update

First off....the course remains closed due to snow, ice, and downed trees.  Temperatures are favorable for some melting Thursday and Friday, but I do not expect it to be playable before the next storm arrives Sunday.  I'll keep the golf shop posted on the status and certainly open whatever I can if possible.

The guys have been working non-stop cutting up downed trees and chipping everything that we can fit in our chipper.  The logs will be dealt with  once we finish cleaning up the piles.  We also have to get back around to cut down the trees that broke well above the ground.  For the most part we have had to stay near the cart path so we still have to get back to the "far side" of every hole.  It's going to be a few weeks before we are "finished".  The bridge on 7 took a beating and we will have to replace a number of boards and rails.  It's passable, but not pretty.  Just a big mess essentially.  Stump grinding and log hauling may be handled by Adam's Tree Care once we get through the first phase of clean up.  Having said all that....it looks like another big storm is coming Sunday.  Hopefully it is not a wet snow with high winds.  We may have to call for back up if that happens.

I have to give a big thanks to Joseph for manning the chainsaw all week.  He's been a huge help for our team as we've lost some of our best chainsaw operators in recent years.  Joseph and John worked all day Saturday and Sunday clearing a path around the course so that we could get equipment out for the clean up.  Alan, Dave, Connor, Tyler, Cody, and Ginny have also been laser focused on the clean up process.  The mess is as much a mental hurdle as it is a physical one.  Having a bunch of positive attitudes working together is a huge help.  We know we have a long way to go and we know that it might get worse before it gets better, but everyone is dialed in on the goal.  We all look forward to seeing some grass again soon.
