Leaves and Leaks

If you played golf this week you saw plenty of leaf related work being done.  We had hoped to get started on the greens "venting" process mentioned in our last update, but two very heavy frosts and lots of wind put that on hold for a few days.  We put all hands on deck for the better part of 5 days trying to get ahead of the leaf issue.  The parking lots and building grounds (clubhouse, tennis, and pro shop) may not show it, but we spent roughly 2 full days this week helping Ginny get leaves cleaned up.  The golf course is starting to dry up enough for us to get the big machines out in other places as well.  It looks like we are going to be able to get most of the work done by Thanksgiving this year so that is a huge accomplishment.  It frees us up to do a number of other things in December.

This week's surprise was an irrigation break in front of 9 green.  Sometime before sunrise on Thursday a 2" pipe fitting came apart creating a big mess.  The bunker in front of the green took the brunt of the damage.  Ryan and I dug it out and ordered the part.  It will be a mess until at least Monday.

An end cap blew off a pipe.  The pipe was about 4' from the bunker

The bunker will be a tough clean up project
