Progress Continues

We are scrambling and it's nerve wracking to watch the weather improve with so many projects still yet to be completed.  The month long ice cover really put us behind.  We are trying to wrap up what's underway now so we can focus on course maintenance again.   Here is a rundown of where things stand....

  • The bridge on 16 is completed after a few irrigation related issues and more rotten wood than we anticipated.
  • The range tee mat project is prepped and should be poured in concrete this week.  The new mats we hope to install next week.
  • New parking next to the putting green will help to alleviate some of the traffic jams that can occur when big events and busy days arrive.
  • The irrigation mainline project is hopefully going to be complete this week as we really need to start filling the pipes up and testing things out.  Soil temperatures will be right for some important preventive applications for weeds and a few diseases, but all of those things require water.
  • Irrigation heads on the range tee are being leveled.  This is more involved than it should be thanks to some poor installation 32 years ago.  The swing joints are very short so our holes have to be much bigger to get to the root of the issue.  We also have some very sketchy wiring to repair.  It's a mess.
  • Tree work got abruptly stopped when the ice fell in late January.  We will try to get a few more done, but now that busy season is essentially here it's tough to drop trees around golf.
