Congratulations and Thank You, Ryan!

For the past 9 years, Ryan Funkhouser has been an integral part of our club.  When I hired Ryan, his goal was to advance in the industry.  I'm excited to announce that last week he accepted an offer to become Superintendent at The Gauntlet under new leadership.  At the same time I'm very sad to see him go and do not look forward to the void he will leave.  I can not express to you how big a role he's played in everything we do on the course.  You don't see our staff a lot, but it will be hard to hide the fact that he has left.  Ryan grew tremendously during his time here, and will be a huge asset for The Gauntlet.  He was very well liked so not only will we miss his experience and effort, we will miss having him around even more.  Ryan's last day on site was last Friday.  Knowing the sense of urgency on a golf course in the Spring I encouraged him to jump on board his new role asap.  He has a staff to build and some critical decisions to make right away with the great weather we are having.  I had hoped to do a big send off for him, but the timing didn't work well.

Congratulations Ryan!  We hate to lose you, but are proud of this achievement that you worked so hard for.  Best of luck to you at The Gauntlet.
