Monday Course Update (Golf Tomorrow)

After nearly one month of snow, ice, slop, etc...we are ready to play golf again.  Yesterday was borderline at best and given the frigid temps in the morning the decision was made to hold off for one more day.  There were 12 greens "ready" for play and 6 that still had ice on the surface so it would not have been ideal.  At any rate, we are prepping things today(Monday) for play to resume tomorrow.  There is a lot of mess to clean up from the winds over the past month.

You'll notice that some progress occurred while we were closed.  The team has removed over 50 dead trees, cleaned up the native areas, pond banks, and some wooded areas, and refurbished 320 tee markers while the course was closed.

Thank  you for your patience and understanding these past few weeks.  Hopefully we don't see another stretch like that for a long time.

The rails are going on as we speak.  The path will be widened at the entry/exit to
match the new bridge width.  This will make it much easier to get across.

This was Saturday afternoon.  Several other holes looked like this as well.

Sadly, surface drainage was not a high priority when they built our greens.  Internal drainage doesn't work when the ground is frozen.  Many of our greens do not have adequate surface drainage.   As the ice melted we pushed off what water and slush we could.  In the summer these greens struggle as
internal drainage is not adequate even when the ground is not frozen.
