Progress Continues In The Snow

The snowstorm put a damper on some of the things we hoped to accomplish this week, but we've got plenty of work to do in other areas.  We started the week off clearing snow from all the parking lots and walkways around the club and golf shop.  A skeleton crew worked most of Monday and Tuesday getting things cleaned up.  We've been focused on refurbishing tee markers, making new markers, working on equipment, and prepping for upcoming bridge work.  It looks like another 2-4" of snow will fall Friday night so we'll be back to snow clean up Saturday morning.

If Ernie can make it Monday, we plan to start resurfacing the bridge on hole 4.  Obviously this won't affect play since snow has us shut down.  However, if things melt and we are still working on that bridge, there may be a few holes closed for a short time.  Once we get that bridge completed we plan to tackle the one on hole 17.  The hope is that we won't find any structural issues and can just focus on the surface and rails.   Stay tuned for details on how this work might impact play.

Tree work will get started next week as well and we'll start with all the dead trees that we marked in September.  There are roughly 100, most of which we should be able to take care of ourselves.  We'll need some outside help for a few of them and that will happen later this winter.  Once we've gotten close to the finish line, we'll line up the stump grinder and spend a day or two working on that.

Another project we will be working on is cleaning up some eroded areas outside cart paths.  The silver lining behind the messy project at hole 8 last year is about 125 tons of useful soil that can be used to back fill these areas.   Stumps and roots are being removed and we'll plant grass this spring.

I appreciate having a cab.  That wasn't the case when I started.  However, snow does
make me miss South Carolina a little bit.

We tried.  The green is still ok, but the netting around the green not so much.
