In the past 14 days we've had 4.4" of rain. That is a lot, but not as much as you might have guessed based on how wet things are. In that 14 day stretch the sun popped out just once. Other than that it's been misty, cloudy, or pouring rain. I explained in the last update how our aeration and seeding plans have fallen through. We are now facing a massive outbreak of large patch in the zoysia and a sea of earthworm castings which make the course appear to be covered in mud. We've been able to mow greens on all but 3 days, but they have some black algae visible that will need some sun and a possible treatment to knock back. Grasses everywhere else will have to be mowed at higher heights than normal when it's dry enough to try. Getting back to "normal" is going to take some time and further delay the start of other projects. I've never seen it this wet in the growing season. This is a February/March post two week snow melt type wet. Thanks again for your patience as things dry out and we work through the deep wet grass to make things playable again. When that happens, we'll get back to aeration and seeding.
NOTE...We are scheduled to do another mini core aeration on Greens next Monday and Tuesday. However, we may need that time just to mow grass if it's finally dry enough. We are keeping our plans flexible and will update you as soon as we get a better idea.

Ball marks are much easier to make and tend to be much bigger when conditions are as wet as they've been. Please make sure to fix as many as you can. |

1 approach is too wet to walk through. Worms castings cover most of the zoysia throughout the course |
