Update on 8 tee

I think it's obvious that 8 tee tops are going to need a do over.  They did not survive the 7" of rain that fell between June 27th and July 27th.  You'll recall previous notes when we feared there were drainage issues.  In early May following several inches of rain the sod floated up out of the soil and when water receded, air pockets were left behind.  The contractor arrived on May 21st to install drainage on the back tee.  It was decided that we would see how that worked before proceeding with the front two tees.  It took almost 5 weeks before we got a measurable rain.  That happened on June 27th when we received just under 2".  Over the course of the next month we received a total of 7" with rain every 2-3 days.  The back tee fared slightly better than the front two, but the drainage did not do enough to handle the volume of rain received in July.  Saturated soils in 90 degree heat do not support plant life.  My opinion is that the growing medium used to construct the tees is not suitable.  Others agree, but for now all I know is there is still work to be done.  I'm hopeful we can get help from the contractor and confident that when cooler weather arrives we can put this project officially to bed.  We have a number of other tees that suffer when conditions get extreme and we'd like to make improvements to them as well.  This has been a frustrating learning experience that will benefit us in the next wave of tee repairs.
