Course Status as of 1/24 Course Open Thursday!

Status as of Wednesday afternoon 1/24

Our guess was correct and we will be open for play tomorrow!  The course was definitely not fit for play today, but after a full day of clean up and more thawing, we will have at least 16 holes available.  Holes 7 and 15 will be last minute calls based on how well they thaw out.  Hope the rain stays away so you can enjoy some fresh air and golf.

Status as of Monday 1/22

It's safe to say that we will not be open by Wednesday.  As of 3:00 today there were only 5 greens that had any grass visible.  By tomorrow afternoon things may look much better, but the greens will still be unplayable.  Wednesday is a big day for improvement as the low temperature won't be below freezing.  We are hoping that maybe Thursday, most of the course will be playable.  Here are a few pictures from the front nine this afternoon...

Hole 5 has a little grass visible on the back of the green

3 is covered

7 is covered.  The sign reads "Please, No Sledding.  Thanks!"
Sadly, it did not work.

Status as of Saturday 1/20...

The extra snow yesterday and frigid temps for the next two days means we will remain closed until at least Wednesday or Thursday.  It's hard to predict, but given how wet things were before the snow and how hard things have frozen since, the course will be saturated when things do thaw out.  Unfortunately the forecast calls for rain on Wednesday and for several days following.  Things may get worse before they get better.

Status as of Tuesday 1/16...

Obviously things are under a nice blanket of snow at the moment.  That's helpful to the turf as it gives some protection from the single digit temperatures we expect tonight.  Temperatures over the next few days and another threat of snow and/or rain on Friday make it easy to say that there will be no golf course to play this week.  If the long range forecast for warmer temps late next week comes true, then that is my best guess for when we might be able to play some golf.  Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to conditions that might allow for golf.
