Practice Tee Update

Good News.... we aren't the only course planning to give the mats a rest.

Members - The driving range will be GRASS ONLY this weekend in order to give the mats some time to recover. Thank you for understanding.

The zoysia on the practice tee is finally starting to wake up.  The warm spell in early April helped a lot, but then it hit the snooze button with the current cool down.  The 3+ inches of rain that started on Friday delayed my plan to open up the turf Saturday, but I'm hopeful that we will have it open for use this weekend.

Once we open the turf for use please follow the signage posted on the tee as it spells out the best way to practice for the sake of the turf. We will use the mats on Mondays and Tuesdays each week and use the turf on Wednesday - Sunday barring any heavy rain.

Practice Area Reminders/Etiquette:

  • If you can hit the ball past the last target flag, please back off a little so we don't lose golf balls. It's only 230 yards when the tee is set up on the front portion of the turf.
  • Do not take full swing shots to the chipping green. There should be no ball marks on the chipping green.
  • Stay between the ropes when the tee is set up on the turf.
  • Do not apply spray sunscreen or bug repellent when standing on the turf
  • Please don't stand in one place for too long when putting. Chalk lines are fine, but stand on a towel or move up and back regularly.
  • Please park in the parking area to avoid blocking through traffic near the putting green.
  • Take divots in a linear fashion rather than in mass or scattered. The sign on the tee outlines this strategy. It makes a big difference.
Thanks for your patience and cooperation over the winter and early spring! With your support we can have a nice tee to practice from all summer.
