March 2nd Update

Our small but talented team continues to win.  We are racing to get a lot of things done before we have to start mowing grass.  I've mentioned many of our goals in previous updates and am happy to report that we are checking things off the list daily.  Irrigation controllers, water bottle fillers, stump removals, course mapping, and mulch around the clubhouse grounds are some of the recent areas of emphasis.  Soon we hope to have the bridge at 7 re-surfaced (we were expecting this week, but the contractor mis-fired).  More stump removals and clean up will happen next Monday and we will need to keep the course closed for this.  We have two machines coming to help us with nearly 300 stumps around the course.  I have a lot more on the list, but those are the highlights that come to mind right now.

The water bottle fillers located on holes 6 and 13 were an idea that started with the need to replace our old water cooler stands.  These 27 year old structures needed to be re-built and their "home bases" needed some TLC.  Given the expense and time associated with that project it seemed like a good time to consider a change.  The water bottle fillers will eliminate a lot of labor, be more sanitary, save us the expense and waste of cups, and never run out of water on a hot day.  They are refrigerated and filtered as well.  There will still be a water cooler located on the practice tee and you can fill up behind 1 tee with ice and water.  We will have cups available at the water bottle fillers for those that forget to bring one from the 1st tee.

The water bottle fillers are up and running.  The next
step is pressure washing and painting.

Dave Neilan is a machine.  He ran electricity and plumbing to
make these work.  Drilling a 2" hole through a 6" thick concrete wall and
routing wires and pipe was not a simple task.
Dave and Alan with help from Ian and Tyler made it work.

Adam's Tree ground 55 stumps at 2 tee and hauled pine logs away this week

Alan, Joseph, and John fought the muddy ground to
clean up the stumps and begin the prep for grass.  This area is a mess
but we will transform it into something nice as soon as
we can get it to dry up.
