Spring Reminders
As we enter peak golf season it's a good time for a refresher on some course etiquette basics. Following these few steps and helping to get others to do the same, will help keep the course in the best possible condition. With a big increase in the amount of golf being played, it's even more important than ever that golfers do their part to care for the course.
Ball Mark Repair...
Please fix as many ball marks as you can without delaying play. Even if you don't make a ball mark, you're likely to find one or more that were missed. If you enter the green from the rear, remember you might have to walk past your ball to find the mark. The ball rolls truest on the practice green....because there are no ball marks.
Divots...
Please fill any divot you make with the sand bottles on the cart. There is sand for refilling empty bottles in a box near the first tee. The golf shop staff will refill the bottles when cleaning carts after a round. We do fill tee divots ourselves, but don't have an issue with golfers doing it. We used to have divot boxes on the par 3 tees, but determined that there was much more staff labor involved in having them than there was in just filling the divots ourselves. As with any divot, please be neat and tidy when filling it.
Carts...
When the "90 Degree" rule is in effect, please let the two white topped posts on each hole serve as "goal posts". You may leave the path anywhere after the first post and return to the path anywhere before the second post. The posts are not meant to identify the exact points where you must exit or return to the path, but serve as guides to help avoid concentrated wear.
Additional points to remember with cart traffic...
- Keep your cart out of the rough (except when getting between the path and the fairway)
- When stopped at tees and greens, park all four tires on the path
- All par 3's are cart path only
- No more than two carts per group should leave the path on any given hole. Ex: Foursomes with four carts should keep at least two carts on the path on each hole.
