Almost Finished

Our fall cart path renovation project is almost complete!  Weather hampered us one time, but Flatline made adjustments to the process to work around it.  Equipment held up well with just a couple of minor setbacks.  The biggest hurdle was probably the concrete plant getting trucks to us in a timely manner.  It took a lot of coordination with property owners, rental companies, sub-contractors, etc...but Flatline did another fantastic job and I think you will be very happy when you see it.

The last sections to be repaired were poured and finished today.  The form boards will be removed tomorrow and we will be ready for play on Saturday.  We have replaced almost a mile of path this year (460 sections x 10' = +/- 4600')!  That is a lot, but there is more to be done in order to say we "finished".  Holes 1,2,5,8,9,18, and portions of 4,6,7,10,12,16,17 still need attention.  For now the biggest bumps have been addressed and we are in a much better place than we were a year ago.  The next week or two will be spent dressing up the edges and sodding areas that need re-grading.  The goal will be to have a smooth exit/entry from concrete to grass.

I can't say enough good things about Chris Mitchell and Matt Laydon from Flatline.  They are first class in every way and impressed everyone that saw them in action.  Thanks to the membership for letting us do this much needed work.  Thanks to Lisa Weaver (Fawn Lake Land) for letting us stage our old concrete on her lot.  Thanks to John and Aimee Weems for letting us cut through their lot on 16 to shorten the concrete haul.  Thanks to all the neighbors who put up with our efforts the past 9 days.  The noisy part is finished and we are now just cleaning up the mess for the next few days.

2.6" of rain on Monday night slowed us down a little

We used the parking lot and the "commuter lot" beside Longstreet
to stage the old concrete.  Excavators hauled it to a recycling plant.

The old path followed the blue line.  We softened the curve.
