Behind The Scenes

We work behind the scenes and do our best to get most of our work done ahead of play.  Even further behind the scenes is Mike Campbell, our Equipment Manager.  Each morning the guys show up to a room full of razor sharp, precisely adjusted mowers that crank on the first try without fail.  We have a lot of complex equipment that requires daily attention in the season.   If it isn't sharp and properly adjusted, it doesn't matter how good the rest of us do our jobs, the turf will look bad.   With cutting heights as low as .095" at times, there is zero margin for error.  

If you've ever seen Mike's shop, you know immediately that he is a pro.  It looks more like an operating room than a repair shop.  We've made a lot of big strides in my 21 years at Fawn Lake, but the biggest one, was adding Mike to the team in 2016.  All the good that happens on the course starts in his shop.  We are very fortunate to have Mike on our team.  

PS...Many of you expressed your appreciation for Mike a couple of years ago with your contribution to the air conditioning fund.  It's working great and makes his life much better in these summer months. Thank you again for all of your support, and to those of you who don't know Mike, come on by the shop some day.
