Progress Continues

Back to reality after a week of mild weather.  More rain, cold temps, and a few surprises greeted us Monday.  Our primary tool for all winter work is the Kubota tractor.  It keeps the snow plowed, chips all the stuff we cut down, and loads us up with whatever we need to haul.  Unfortunately it's got some issues and will be spending some time at the shop.  It's got 6000 hours on it and has been a great tractor, but the transmission is acting up.  Hopefully we get it back soon and can start working on the next 6000.  Also....hopefully it doesn't snow in the meantime.  The guys are happy to take a break from tree work while the tractor gets repaired, but shoveling snow from the clubhouse parking lot would not be pleasant.

As always, bad weather and equipment issues do not keep us down.  The "to do" list is long and there is no such thing as "downtime".  Getting some light in the shop equipment storage area has been a dream for 20 years.  The guys made it happen earlier this week.  Some scaffolding, electrical work, and new 8' LED bulbs will help us to see what we bang our shins on instead of having to wonder due to darkness.  The cost of this project was pennies compared to what it would have been just a few years ago.  Technology has come a long way and we were able to do this for a song.  Mike, Jimmy, and Alan knocked out all 16 fixtures in one day with time to spare.
