As some of you know we have been trying hard to re-grow some of the worn areas in the rough.  Part of the process we've used involves applying a compost over the seed in these areas.  It is a great help to the soil in these areas and helps to get the seed up and going.  The drawback, however, is an odor that is not all that appealing.  Here is an article on this topic that you might find interesting:
